During the COVID-19 pandemic, many of Timothy’s clients were just looking for a plan or advice. Some clients had more money due to working from home and having fewer opportunities to spend. Others were laid-off or furloughed and unsure of how they were going to pay their bills. Ultimately, both groups of people did not want a “financial product,” like a loan or investments - but they wanted advice and a plan on what to do next. Through advice and planning, they now had the foundation to make their next financial move.
After reflecting on past and present clients’ needs - many people did not want a product; they wanted a financial road map and knowledge about how to make the right money decisions. This is how the idea for Worthy Financial came along. At banks and credit unions, it’s often about upselling loans, investments, and add-ons rather than providing all clients equal access to support that can help to lead them on the right path to successful money management. Financial Planning is a process and not provided to clients unless they have a large sum of investments. When was the last time you had a complete picture of your financial future? The majority of Canadians do not have a financial plan, and they are underserviced by the financial services industry because they are not wealthy. That is why we believe everyone deserves wealth advice, not just the rich.
Our advantage is that we do not sell financial products. We only sell time and advice. Our advice is not biased towards a financial institution’s product offerings or shareholders’ targets. Our holistic advice is centred on you - the client - because we work for you. We will provide you with the whole picture of your present and future finances and make your money work harder for you.
Having a financial plan will help you increase your net worth and reach your next goal sooner. No matter what life stage - either eliminating your debt, buying your first house or preparing for retirement, we want to provide you with the advice and knowledge to get you there.
We also recognize that not everyone can afford to get financial coaching or retirement planning due to low wages or having job disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic. We want to reach these people, so we offer appointments on a sliding scale to help people who need advice the most.
